Project overview
- Activate is a product that offers a no-code interface to allow property admins to create branded portals for their tenants so they can find information about their workplace and have access to exclusive events and perks.
- I was tasked with introducing the concept of multi-language support to the platform of user generated content
- During the design process, there were a lot of ambiguous data points that forced me to explore solutions further and come to a good solution
Background
Activate empowers property administrators to create branded tenant portals without writing code. These portals provide essential workplace information and exclusive benefits, enhancing the tenant experience. As the platform grew, customers began expanding to international markets, revealing a critical gap—Activate lacked multi-language support.
Given that content on the platform is user-generated, enabling seamless language adaptation posed unique design and technical challenges. My role was to introduce a scalable multi-language solution that would allow property admins to create inclusive experiences for diverse tenant populations.
Goals
The primary goal of this project was to design and implement multi-language support within Activate while maintaining ease of use. To achieve this, I focused on:
- Empowering property admins to create multilingual experiences without adding unnecessary complexity to the existing no-code interface.
- Providing a seamless tenant experience by ensuring language selection and content rendering felt natural and intuitive.
- Designing a scalable solution that could accommodate future expansions as new languages and localization requirements emerged.
Jobs to be done
- When a property admin is managing tenant communication across multiple languages, they want an intuitive way to create and organize multilingual content so they can provide a seamless experience for all tenants without duplicating work.
- When a tenant accesses their workplace portal, they want content to be available in their preferred language so they can easily find relevant information and engage with events and perks.
Design process
Content creation
- Step 1: Analyze the current page creation process
- Step 2: Ideation and initial testing
- Step 3: Validation
